Jazz Week unfolded against a full denim backdrop, connecting South African artists through a shared language of cloth and craft. Zoë Modiga stepped into her performance in anticipation of her upcoming album release, marking a new chapter in her evolution.
Key moments included her immersive listening experience, alongside appearances from G-STAR Tribe member Nduduzo Makhathini, as well as Msaki and Sio, each bringing a distinct voice within South Africa’s evolving soundscape. For Makhathini, his self-styled G-STAR look drew from the latest collections, the Marc Newson and Archetypes capsules, combining experimental silhouettes, rich textures and considered layering.
Artists seen in G-STAR pre- and post-performance included Rosey Gold, Mandisi, Manana and long-time friend of the brand, Siv Ngesi.
Across each touchpoint, the brand aligned with spaces that matter, where jazz is not only performed, but lived. Whether in vinyl-led sessions or on world-class stages, G-STAR remained present as a uniform for creative expression. This presence reflects a continued commitment to showing up in the right spaces, alongside voices shaping contemporary sound, reinforcing denim as both a canvas and a connector across music, style and identity.
