G-STAR Marks the Moment: Cape Town Jazz Week

" From intimate listening sessions at Vault On Bree to global jazz stages, denim is front and centre, connecting sound, style and heritage."

As Jazz Week begins in Cape Town, G-STAR has taken over – standing alongside the artists, DJs, and cultural  architects. From intimate listening sessions at Vault On Bree to global jazz stages, denim is front and centre,  connecting sound, style and heritage.

The week opens on Tuesday, 24 March, as Zoë Modiga brings Cape Town The Vault: The Art of Listening In at  Vault On Bree in a listening session format. Presenting an exclusive preview of her unreleased alt-soul and jazz  project, Modiga guides guests through her world. One of Cape Town’s few listening bars, Vault On Bree has  become the ideal spot for intimacy – where jazz claims its cool.

Two nights later, Corner of Castle and Bree Street welcomes DJ Bob Jazz Club, featuring DJ Bob, Sumthin  Brown, Atiyyah Khan and Paul Waxon, bringing South Africa’s underground vinyl culture to one space, Vault On  Bree: pure vinyl and jazz archives. G-STAR stands in the room as the denim of the city, worn by the selectors  keeping vinyl alive.

Montreux Jazz Festival South Africa reimagines one of the world’s most iconic festivals under Cape skies. The  festival spotlights a wide range of artists from Mandisi Dyantyis and Kujenga, to Rosey Gold, Candice Horn and  duo Msaki and Jesse Clegg.

As The Cape Town International Jazz Festival returns; Scorpion Kings, Nduduzo Makhathini and Zoe Modiga, and  Jacob Collier take over the stage. G-STAR is showing up as cultural partners throughout the jazz week, because  who better than the denim brand built on pushing boundaries and reinvention.
