iQHAWE MAGAZINE presented the third installment of the amaQHAWEkazi creative women’s showcase titled “not a film festival” which is aimed at showcasing young emerging and established women filmmakers. We want to curate an experience that speaks to the importance of inclusion and recognition of talent. This was done through a full day of film screenings at multiple times within the different rooms and spaces.
The screening was also accompanied by a discussion facilitated by the Girls in Film ambassadors along with the Editors of iQHAWE MAGAZINE to get insight into the industry’s challenges and projection. The films screened will fall into diverse themes that touch on identity (gender, race, sexuality and socio-political commentary).
iQHAWE Magazine is centered on celebrating and representing emerging creative communities while also closing the divide between emerging creatives and their respective industries.
