We’re all heading to Cape Town! The 12th edition of the Investec Cape Town Art Fair (ICTAF) is calling, and we’re answering. Book your flights, pack your best fits, and let’s go.
From 21–23 February, the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) will be buzzing with the best in contemporary African art. With over 400 artists and 50+ galleries, the ICTAF returns for its 12th edition. Naturally, we are drawn to the young and emerging artists and the Tomorrows/Today section, as curated by Dr. Mariella Franzoni (@mariella.franzoni) showcases such artists that are pushing the boundaries of contemporary art in Africa.
With the sub-theme Experience, Attempt, Experiment, the artist selection brings together a dynamic mix of young and emerging talents from nine different countries, to explore elements of transformation, play, and new artistic possibilities. This segment showcases twelve artists whose works span textiles, photography, and painting, reflecting contemporary practices rooted in identity, socio-political commentary, and cultural exchange.
